Repatriation of remains is the process that allows individuals who are legally entitled to either transport a body for burial outside the country or receive it from abroad in order to conduct the funeral in Greece.

The process is particularly complex, and our office can handle it efficiently.

Transport to Greece

We get in touch with the Greek embassy or consulate of the country where the individual passed away, as well as with the funeral home responsible for sending the body to Greece. In this way, we ensure direct collaboration with all parties involved for a quick and safe repatriation.

Transport from Greece to a foreign country

We undertake:

• The death declaration and securing the death certificate.

• Apostille for any documents required.

• Translation of documents, either at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or at the embassy of the country to which the deceased is to be transported.

• Health and customs procedures related to the transportation of the body.
